With over 20 years of experience, how can chanting and meditation help you manage stress?
For more than a decade, I have been practicing Buddhism as a philosophy of life, and as part of it, I chant it for an hour a day. The chanting practice clears my mind and recharges as a motivation to start the day.
Are you following a specific technique or discipline on a daily/weekly basis?
Chanting is part of Nichiren Buddhist philosophy, a very practical philosophy of life based on prayer and then action. The central principle of philosophy is the universal law of cause and effect or “karma”.
Chanting is the starting point; it has helped me tremendously in my career and making decisions based on the courage and wisdom that this practice has generated.

You also practice yoga. Do you have any specific form of practice? How was your experience?
I practice hatha yoga which includes sun salutations and various yoga kriyas and ends with pranayama. I have enjoyed yoga as a form of exercise for 8 years.
I practice about three times a week. It keeps me flexible, healthy and energized throughout the day. It’s a great healing tool and the practice of many kriyas and pranayama techniques has helped me maintain hormonal balance in my body and boost my immunity.

Chanting or meditation is essential for all of us to take time out of our daily lives, step back and focus on silence and self-awareness.
It helps to rationalize the mind, boost self-confidence and motivation, and provide the discipline to achieve our best potential.
Any great knowledge about applying principles of meditation, yoga or swimming that can help you build a leadership style?
Daily practice of chanting and exercise through yoga or swimming can make every day full of energy. It creates rhythm and discipline in life and helps maintain physical and mental health.
Plus, it creates a meaningful balance that strengthens the brain to deal with stressful situations with courage and determination.
The practice of chanting/medication brought the foresight and patience that helped me take full control and responsibility even in the most challenging situations.
It provides the emotional strength, courage and resilience as leaders to rationalize and make weighed decisions and the courage to take a hard line while building a compassionate work environment rather than compromising results and performance.
